Yeah, I did see that (although to be fair, it is in itty-bitty type way at the bottom). Perhaps I should have been clearer: What exactly is it for (other than recording your voice digitally)? (I guess I'm curious about the post title. How will a DVR help you with a new career?
(I'm in Pittsburgh--Eastern time. Just an early riser.)
To add more detail to the original vague hint: it's the kind of thing a journalist (and people who like to pretend to be journalists) might use to record an interview.
The Alternative Scientist is a blog about alternative career options for scientists. There are many career paths for a scientist in addition to the traditional tenure track, and the goal of this blog is to provide a forum for open and honest discussions about the various possibilities.
We welcome anyone who is interested in discussing alternative science careers, whether it be to share information, advice, musings, or personal experiences. You do not have to be in an alternative science position to join us!
Do you have something to contribute? A guest post, a suggestion, an interesting link or job opportunity? Would you like to join our roster of regular contributors? If so, please email Bean-mom at sneakycat AT gmail DOT com.

(sorry, couldn't resist... 5.35 is very early to be posting! What time zone are you in? It is actually 7.28am here right now)

Ah ha! I thought so! Cath is launching her new career as a science journalist!
(let me know how the voice recorder works out. I may be seeking advice from you about it in the future...)
I might not go as far as "launching"...
